The elliptical trainer
I’m finding, more and more, that I’m really liking the elliptical trainer. I’m finally to the point where I can get on one without running the risk of breaking it. It definitely challenges me, but I’m not sore or worried about my knees or ankles while I’m on it. The elliptical, swimming and walks around town pretty much make up the cardiovascular part of my workout routine these days. If you’re ever thinking about getting one for home use, however, I’d advise against the models with moving arms, though. It’s hard to find a good place to put your water bottle, without worriyng about one of the swing arms breaking your wrist. YMMV.

It’s official…
…100 gone, and then some. I finally made it to a meeting today, and the numbers came up 407 and change, which makes my weight loss 107 pounds, plus a few ounces. I beleived this would be the case, thanks to an unofficial weigh-in last week, but it’s nice to get confirmation.
I’m hoping to get under 400 by the end of October, with a long-term goal of getting to the point where I could theoretically make weight (285, for those who don’t want to flip through the PDF). For those unfamiliar with my wrestling “career”, it consisted of counting a lot of ceiling lights. Still, it would be nice to know I could legally step on the mat, before being stuck to it. Once I hit 285, I’m going to visit my doctor and talk about what my goal weight should be.
Still, it’s nice to know I’ve lost an Ivan Calderon. Next up, a B.J. Penn.
