The (no-longer) fake ID
This may get me in trouble with some law enforcement agency somewhere, but I’m too happy to care.
I had to fire out my driver’s license several times in the last week, as I’ve been flying to here and there and, during one of the many times I had to return it to my wallet, I noticed something.
I’m at the weight I listed on my license.
Now, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only heavy dude or dudette that decided to put down the weight I thought I should be, instead of my actual weight. But, now, I’m able to say that everything on my DL is provably correct, not just my need for corrective lenses.

82 pounds gone so far…
… and it’s been a good trip to this point. I’m a little more than four months into this, and already, the benefits have been tremendous.
First and foremost, I’m no longer worried about outgrowing the racks at the big and tall store (yes, that was a worry in march). I’m actually able to find a few things in the “regular” stores that fit, between a limited 3xl selection and a few 2xl items that are more fully cut. I’m hoping to be in almost all 3xl stuff for OU’s 2008 season opener August 30th.
Secondly, I flew to New York about two weeks ago, and I could click the seatbelt around me, albeit with some twisting and turning. I’m confident that the seat belt will not be an issue by my next flight, whenever that may be (I also discovered that my former least-favorite airline, Southwest, is surprisingly not horrible, though, I suspect that a lot of this has to do with the fact that all airlines are pretty awful now, and Southwest’s evil ways are the norm across the board. They are cheap, however).
The third change is less easily defined, but it is perhaps the greatest one. I hurt less, and want to do more. Walking a few blocks is no longer a chore. In fact, walking up to two miles is becoming pretty easy to accomplish. My knees and back also no longer force me to collapse into a chair or onto the couch when I’m finished.
I’ll be back at it tomorrow.
